I had searched the lightweight stroller for my one year old son for a couple months after we decided to switch from travel system stroller. We finally ended up with Chico Capri one. We like it so far. It is a reasonable price for an affordable lightweight stroller. I know you might think about Maclaren any models but we did not feel to spend that much money to just light stroller. As long as they are safety and light. It is good for travel not take a lot of space in the car. It is easy to use even the first time. Do not expect to walk this stroller for a big grocery shopping!!Also canopy is too small.

Things I love about this stroller:
1) folds up into a really manageable size, if a little long
2) light and easy to carry
3) the shade is actually useful! unlike so many umbrella strollers
4) it looks fantastic
5) the brakes are super easy to use and very useful (particularly when you have the stroller folded up and put the brakes on so you can lean the stroller up against a wall without it getting away)
6) the storage area is big enough to be useful and you can throw a bunch of purses and stuff over the handle bars without it falling over
7) it comes with a handy carrying strap, cover, and plastic pouch that clips on that I use to store the cover as well as other small items

My one complaint:
When you push the stroller, your feet hit the wheels almost without fail. I have to walk as though on a straight line in order to prevent this, and I'm only 5'4" so my legs really aren't that long!

This has been the best stroller ever! I have used my Capri stroller for about 6 months now and I still love it. My son falls asleep easily in it, which reflects his high level of comfort. It rolls smoothly, and is so light! I would definitely buy this stroller again and would recommend it for children 4 months and older.

I was hoping we would be one of the lucky ones who didn't kick the wheels of the Chicco stroller. We weren't. I really love the stroller for its price and features, such as the 5-point harness, reclining seat and adjustable sun shade. I just wish there was an easy solution for all of us who kick the wheels. The handles just need to be a bit longer. We're keeping it and will try to jerry-rig something. Inside stores, it's not really a problem because you are walking so slow. But any longer walks are a bit uncomfortable.

As a very compact stroller, this one is pretty good. I looked at many umbrella strollers and most did not have 5 point harnesses or aren't comfy for someone over about 5'2". Now I'm a hair under 5'8", but I wouldn't recommend this for anyone taller. My husband at 6' had to hunch over to push it. Another issue is that the wheels are pretty close together and the handles don't tilt back far enough to provide a lot of separation between your feet and the wheels. You do have to walk heel-toe if you are going to walk behind the stroller and that not only takes a little getting used to, but can be tiring because you don't use your normal walking muscles.

It has a very small basket underneath that can store some smile items, but because of the cross back support, you can't put a bag of any size under there, but it's good for small purchases. Also, while it does recline, it's not much, but more than you would see on other umbrella strollers.

Another plus is that it is significantly wider than the Jeep umbrella stroller and the other low price ones. My 3 month old looked cramped in that one and I cannot imagine her being able to use it for long. This stroller should last us for travel purposes (especially on the subway) for a couple of years.

I also like that the sunshade can be snapped to the back of the stroller or you can unsnap it and change the angle depending on where the sun is.

I recommend you take a test push of this before purchasing. They have them instock in limited colors at Babies R Us, but that's good advice for any stroller purchase.
